Class Nights - During Covid-19 These will be Zoom Classes - From June 9th Fixed Couples at Stockport Town Hall

We can potentially start back teaching at Stockport Town Hall from Wednesday 9th June

These can only be classes, no actual freestyle and initially will have to be with someone from your bubble (Rule of 6 or 2 households will apply) This is our understanding at present.

Each couple will be designated a space to dance in, 2.5 x 2.5 metres, with space around to exit and to sit. Everything will be covid safe and will be passed by the Environmental Health Officer before we open for business.

We are trying to run 2 classes per night, to try and cover the room cost, as we are having to pay the same amount as we used to when we had 150+ dancers joining us! It isn't a profit thing, we just want to survive.

The classes should run from 7.30pm - 8.45pm & 9.10pm - 10.30pm (allowing for cleaning down time) the cost will be around £8 - £10 per session, dependant on numbers & will be aimed at Intermediate Dancers. We can't accept walk-ins, so everyone will need to pre-book.

We understand this isn't perfect and it will be a lot of work, but we think it's a great place to start and fingers crossed late June will bring some positive changes. Provisionally book your place below.

It's a start & we'll make it fun whilst you get to see all your dance chums again, albeit from a distance.

She has toured the world with Burn the Floors hit show as well as being the lead lady for some of the great Strictly Professionals from Aljaž to Brendan.

We run 2 Modern Jive Classes each week.

Every class night starts with an absolute beginners class & we have lots of helpers.
No Partner is required, 2 Left Feet we love! It’s definitely the easiest & most fun way to keep fit whilst learning something fun & new.
Join us Tuesdays &/or Wednesdays.

The beginners class - Get your 2nd Class Free. For those who have never danced before, don’t worry if you have 2 left feet, or don’t have a partner, we have everything in place for you. We have people from 16 years to 80+ Years of age. We love to dance & love to see all levels, from absolute beginner to Intermediate and above. If you just enjoy relearning & cementing moves you’ve already learnt, then please feel free to join this class as well.

Our classes are 70% Fun & 30% Learning, as we find the more fun you have, the more you seem to learn. For our beginners you will also get a second bite of the cherry with a second beginner ‘refresher’ class later in the same night at No Extra Cost.

Intermediate Advance Class Is in our Main Room often incorporating moves from other styles such as Argentine Tango, Salsa, West Coast Swing, Latin Ballroom, even Zouk. Modern Jive has always been & will always be a fusion of dance styles, so you’ll never never get bored.

This is our premier MJ Venue & has a feel of a Freestyle Night, due to the amount of dancers who join us & the enjoyment that you can feel in the air!

Keith & Vicky (Often your Teachers) became the World Modern Jive & Scottish Ceroc Champions in 2018/19, so you really are being taught by the best, however:

Our philosophy on learning, is that it has to be fun, Modern Jive is a social dance, where people of all ages and backgrounds meet to socialise. So although we teach modern jive with a real flare, you cannot help but get caught up in the enthusiasm which helps to create great fun nights, whether it’s a: Class Night, Freestyle, Workshop, Weekender or Holiday

So if you want to learn something new; on your own or with a friend/partner, keep fit without it feeling like hard work, or meet new people, a Revolution Night will be just the thing and remember, almost 100% of Modern Jiver’s had no formal dance experience before they went to their first class, so you’ll never be alone if it’s your first time and have 2 left feet, people with two left feet are our speciality, so don’t be shy.

No partner nor experience required
Clothing should be comfortable & footwear should allow you to spin, therefore no training shoes...
